Jail Break

According to the states records, 70% of all prisoners in California institutions return to prison after release! With that statistic almost 19000 prisoners that will be released if the bill passes will commit some type of offense that will constitute prison time. Therefore the money that will be spent to make the bill into law, then implement it into the release of the 27000 prisoners, added to the cost of the crimes that 70% of them will commit, plus the cost of reprocessing them back into the system will be more than what the state hopes to save by allowing these prisoners out to commit who knows what!
To say nothing of the cost to their future victims.
Maybe, the state legislator's time would be better spent trying to come up with a bill that reduces recidivism?

With our country's debt rising with every breathe we take we are taking a big risk. That risk is China no longer wanting to invest in the USA. Right now most experts agree that a big reason the US does not have to worry about the risk that China will dump their investment in the US is due to the fact that China needs our citizens to buy Chinese products.
What will happen when we are no longer able to buy enough of China's products?

We are on the precipice of disaster, and it is just a matter of time before someone provides that little nudge to push us right off into the deep. Though many are trying there will be no escape or hiding from it. It must be stopped before it starts!

Bridge For Sale

Every day another article about how the worst is over with our economy. Who is it over for? Certainly not the regular folk who used to work for a living! Just another statistic telling us that sunny skies are here again, but nothing tangible. It will never be tangible like it was, and the government needs to level with its citizens. The truth is we need to realize that the lifestyle the citizens of this country have gotten used to over the last two decades is over for most of us--90% of us.
Our economy is going to hurt most of us for a long time and we need to get real with that immediately! Reducing your financial footprint as well as your carbon footprint will be essential. Living within ours means has not been fashionable for fifty years, however, it will need to come into vogue yesterday. In numbers we can do this much easier than as individuals, but that will be the biggest challenge.
It is inevitable that this new economy will materialize. The question is whether it will come in voluntarily or we will fight it until we lose.
Its up to us.

Military Catching Hell

They're Heeeere!

To many people in the US the story about President Obama's birth place is a joke if not annoying. However, when one considers how many people believe the story factual, a strange shiver should travel down ones spine. Just look at the random shootings that take place in today's society; when one considers the general mentality of today's society and how fragmented people's information is, it does not take much imagination to conceive of some frightful scenarios.

China #4

The forth death from the plague has just been reported. As long as the numbers do not go beyond twelve in the next seventy-two hours it will be a good sign that the Chinese authorities have got things under control.

This Can't Be Good!

If you live in California you might not want to read this post. Because we are apparently getting new neighbors from the California Department of Corrections according to a new court ruling on overcrowding within our prisons. Every time they do this it results in an innocent person dying by the hands of someone who should not be on the streets.

Quarantine Leak

It does appear that the Chinese authorities are finding it very difficult to completely quarantine an entire rural village where many of the residents are not permanent, but are itinerant contract workers who have no desire to stay in an area known to be saturated with the Black Death.

China Update

No news is good news so this is bad news: The latest report from the Qinghai province is not to encouraging. It states that some from the infected village may have escaped the quarantine area.

Keeping U Posted

At first the reports out of China made it sound as if the only people that were infected were members of a family from a single residence and a neighbor. However, a third person has just died from the plague and all three have come from different residences. All apparently from the same village, but...
We will stay focused on this one!

Did They Catch it?

Hopefully, the Chinese authorities have caught the sickness in time before it becomes just the tip of the iceberg. Only time will tell. We'll keep you posted.

NATO=US Military

Please do not forget that when you read of NATO soldiers dying in Afghanistan chances are they were American Military personnel--not that it should matter one single bit--our government knows that there was a time when the citizens of this country would not allow the killing of our military without the security of this country being of primary concern.
It would no longer appear that is true. Though the month of July lost more lives of our military personnel than at any other time since the invasion and August is obviously starting out to do the same; one must look long and hard for any disapproval from the populace of the US.

God's People

How is it that no one seems to think that the treatment given to Israeli citizens of non-Jewish blood by those that are of "The Blood" is apartheid?

A young man about sixteen years ago could no longer stand by and let his country (village) be raped by the Shell Corporation and it cost him his life. If we just let it happen we are just as guilty. Throughout Africa, South America, and various smaller countries there are ongoing invasions by these huge oil conglomerates attempting to take what does not belong to them by force.

As long as we keep killing non-terrorists we will continue to create terrorists. We here at Dahath have been relatively passive for several decades now, and yet, if someone were to kill our loved ones it would take an act of God to keep us from becoming very violent.
It seems doubtful that our response is unique.

The USA, or any other country, cannot continue at this pace for very much longer. No matter how rich a few people get it will not save the hundreds of millions that are getting deeper into the mire. It will only push them closer to madness!

Sign of the Times

Few can imagine the stresses involved for someone in combat. Far less can understand what happens to the human Psyche after relentless exposure to combat over half a decade. There are no public studies available to tell professional health care workers what to expect once these military personnel come home for good.
Those in the military clearly understand what it takes to prepare one for combat, but until recently they have not had to prepare the general personnel to come in and out of combat zones regularly over periods of years. Those who have that type of training are picked from a strenuously strict code of conduct that has proven to be available in less than ten percent of the entire military, they are called Special Forces.

The reason trust is non-existent is the same reason morals, ethics, character, honesty, and compassion are all non-existent; selfishness! People have become so self concerned trying to grab as much as they can before it or they are gone, they do not realize that when you burn a candle from both end simultaneously the candle burns twice as fast without the benefit of twice the light.

Look Good For Now

So many poor young girls are "baking" their faces and bodies for looks, all the while creating a possible near future of pain, heartache, and impaired appearances. This is what we adults have created for our children. Shame on us all!

Nigeria

Why is it that whenever one hears of a small country attempting to renegotiate their "agreements" with the various oil companies involved in that country, which would ultimately result in that particular country receiving a bit more of the profits from their own oil, one always hears of near civil wars breaking out in that particular country?

Is this any way to run a country? Only if you wish to run it into the ground. Which is exactly what has been happening since the sixties. If we do not regain control of our government very soon it will be to late. Keeping product safety from the public is just as bad as lying us into war after war after war.

Did anyone hear it fall?

Imagine if you will, living in a subsistence culture that has existed for generations and within your life time the land that your great-great-great grandparents handed down to you can no longer sustain you and your family. As it cannot sustain any of your neighbors, and none of it has to do with the lifestyle your society has maintained for centuries.
On the contrary, your dying habitat is due to another country hundreds of miles from your home; this country has never been concerned with sustainable living. Even now this country shows no real empathy for your people's plight.
Though we in the USA are not the only cause of the plight of so many such tribes in the Amazon, we are the primary cause.

So you think the Iraq war has been pacified? Think again! Unfortunately, Iraq and the surrounding areas have been a pressure cooker since the British divided the whole area after WWI. Setting artificial borders without taking into account the wide variety of ethnic backgrounds and history of the area.
Let's just say that goodwill for all its neighbors does not trip off the palm trees in places like Kirkuk.
Not only is the war in Iraq not finished; it has yet to begin!

Politics as Usual

The new book out by Chris Hedges, "Empire of Illusion" discusses some of the problems dragging the USA down the drain, and one of them is the way we conduct politics. This country used to be a Republic representing the people by the people. Mind you, it has never run exactly as designed. Then again, what country has or ever will? The point being, our elected officials as with those of us who elected them have no voice. There are just a few very powerful, rich people that do any talking any more.
We here at Dahath find it difficult determining who exactly is it at the rudder?

Amoral Dilemma

With the arrest in Jersey of rabbis and political officials, and the conviction of the "Prophet" of child molestation; should we be surprised to hear about the four young boys arrested for allegedly raping a little girl, or should we be alarmed?

Swine Flu--The Sequel

We recently talked with an official at the N.I.H. and she assured us that we have not seen the last or the worst of the Swine Flu. This discussion took place at a casual setting and we will not reveal who we talked with, however, we believe it is imperative to alert the public of the dangers ahead.

Why Be Upset?

If you check out the article on Truthdig you will see why the Palestinians get just a bit upset with their Israeli neighbors. We here at Dahath will attempt to be as neutral as possible on all we report on; however, if you sense a bias it may not be your imagination, but our inability to remain apart from the suffering of others.

Once a cop.....

It seems only fitting that we here at Dahath make our first comment on the arrest of Professor Gates; seeing how we were once employed in the law enforcement capacity for thirteen years before retiring from an injury. We have been on numerous incidents that escalated into far more than they ever should have, oh could we tell you stories.....
However, not being on the scene we cannot say for certain that this is one of those incidents, but it sure looks that way.
