Dahath is where you go if you are concerned about the world, but have limited time to search the Internet, and need necessary information to make the proper decisions that affect you and your planet.

A Public Service Item

Just a little FYI on the new swine flu vaccine.

In Over Our Heads, Again!

What do you get when you mix arrogance with anxiety? You get the CIA.
Intelligence is the single most crucial ingredient for any hope of victory in war. That is especially true when the war involves an insurgency. Without the proper utility of the many languages that encompass the Area of Responsibility we are "up a creek".
What is worse is the lack of understanding we have with the people of Central Asia. Along with the inability to strike at will into the heart of the enemy bases.

These were the exact same problems we faced in Nam.

How Sad

Its one thing when the incompetence of your government negatively effects your life, but when it drastically fouls up the lives of citizens from another country, that is just sad. Please read this.

More Experts

Just what we need, more experts who know absolutely nothing about counterinsurgency giving advice on, what else, counterinsurgency!
What a coincidence, this expert just wrote a book!

Only In California!

At a time when California is releasing thousands of hard core, evil prisoners due to a massive lack of funding--they are going bankrupt; the California authorities have decided to spend God knows how much to extradite, transport, confine, and go through appeals forever, a 76 year old pedophile from Switzerland!
Don't get us wrong here, we cannot stand perverts, but come on, the funds that they will waste on this guy could be put to use on any number of things related to perverts that are going to be walking the streets soon thanks to the mismanagement of funds like this by California.

Big Brother and the Net

Makes a great name for a band, but it does not sound good when placed in the context of Internet control. Fifty years ago we would have had few complaints about the government having control over the Internet (if it existed). However, after decades of revelations of our government either being complicit in everything from starting wars to killing political officials or being just too incompetent to prevent them, we have very good reason to want the government to keep a hands-off policy concerning the Internet.

Our Tax $$$ @ Work!

This is exactly why we do what we do here at Dahath! To give the regular people a taste of what the controlling class eats.

Bring In The Clowns

When the experts begin to wobble the situation will not improve!

The Train Is In The Station

The departure is about to take place. Once it begins there is only one destination.

Spare the Rod!

Thank God for Science! Spare the rod and have a smarter child.
Maybe the "rod" in the Bible is an authority symbol, and not a physical punishment device?

It's Time To Go

Once it becomes to dangerous to have civilian work groups inside Pakistan; it is time to leave!

Is This Any Way To Live?

If you were Gustavo de la Rosa, what would you do?

A Matter of Time

For good or bad, right or wrong, it is just a matter of time before the war we are waging in other countries comes home to us!

Keep Friday RED

Please do not forget the Troops!
It is not about the wars. It is about their service!

Worth Thousands

When was the last time a  50'ish, WASP, middle incoming looking, guy robbed a bank through the front door?
Could this just be the sign of the times?

incentive

Incentives are very important for motivation, and where are the incentives to motivate Israel to negotiate with Palestine? There are none. If the Palestinians do the only thing they can do to give Israel any incentive to negotiate, the Israeli call them terrorist and refuse to negotiate. If the Palestinians do exactly what Israel request them to do and sit quietly while waiting in the most abhorring conditions before Israel will negotiate-- where is Israel's incentive, there is none!
When in fact: the peace should be the incentive to reward the Palestinians. If you use the stick without the apple you will lose both eventually.
Any creature that is treated badly enough will become aggressive in what ever way it can, i.e. Palestine 1940's.

Back in Nam

This is exactly why a western country will never be useful inside Afghanistan--temperament. We have the wrong temperament, too impatient to stay the course for the time it takes to achieve success. We did the very same thing in Vietnam when we would lose dozens of our military personnel to win a hill only to give it right back!
This is why we do not belong there, and why it will be all for naught!

Now What?

After several days of testing; the plague did indeed take the life of a researcher in the US.

One To Watch!

Here at Dahath seldom, if ever, do we recommend that you watch television , but "Brick City" is different--very much so!
Please try and watch or record this program beginning this Monday the 21st in the PM!
And tell a friend!

Tears of Popeye

Open up your frig again; this time for spinach. A California company is recalling.

What Now?

Name one thing the USA needs today, and it will probably not be this.

Health Care Reform?

The US is currently spending more than any other country by a substantial amount, and yet all that money only provides us with the 37th best health care! Yet, there are those, in the US (that have great health care) who think we do not need to change a thing--needless to say.
Maybe we should just have the corporations come out of the closet and run this country openly.

And Another Bank Bites the Dust

As the "too big to fail" banks get even bigger--thanks to government $$$, the smaller ones are becoming very scarce.
Where does that leave us?

Government Competence

Competency is not the problem in government, but corporate corruption is!

R U KIDDING!!!

You will not believe this one!!

"He's the only paranoid schizophrenic -- I've seen hundreds, maybe thousands of them -- that frightened me," Dr. Frank Hardy, a licensed psychiatrist, says in one of the documents, according to KREM. "The first time I took one look at him -- and I've never done this before or since -- I asked the jailer to remain in the room while I examined him.

Red Shirt Day - Friday

If you forget we will remind you tomorrow.

Just a Reminder

Let us never forget that there were those who thought that war was not the answer. Though, there were not very many who thought so in 2001.

How Many More?

The list gets bigger, and so does the problem.
The Counterinsurgency program in Iraq is faltering slightly due to the lack of funding. If Iraq with oil is finding it difficult to maintain a several hundred thousand man army, how in the world will Afghanistan accomplish the task?
As the list continues to increase.

Enough Already!

Look, it is extremely obvious that the white male congressmen from South Carolina knew exactly what he was doing when he yelled out during the President's (an African American President) televised speech to congress. This guy (Wilson) is as bigoted as his constituents and the more publicity this guy gets the more it will encourage this type of garbage.
Not to mention the work load already on Congress's plate! Do they really have time for any more nonsense?
Do we?

Is Tort Reform Necessary?

Necessary or not here is some info for the debate.

Let's Hit the Beach!

But first, you might want to check with the health department prior to going.

Here We Go Again

If at first you don't succeed, fire your "experts"!

Remember When...?

Remember when doctors got into medicine for the service of the field? Neither do we, it has been decades since people became doctors to help others. Like everything else today, the medical profession is about helping yourself first, and then if there is time maybe someone else could be helped. That is just the way society has gone, and like everything else it will cost us greatly!

FYI - H1N1 Up-Date

Because we care.

Who Needs Clean H2O?

Hey, as long as we are making money who cares if the water table is irreparably damaged?

Rubber Hits the Road

There should be something good in this for someone, right?

Another One Bites The Dust!

The "too small to save" list just grew by a factor of two.

F-U, I Got Mine!

Wonderful philosophy for the "Haves", but it sucks if you are the "Not so Haves"
What is amazing is how many more "Have-Nots" there are compared to the very few "Haves", and yet the majority has yet to figure that out!
Does $$$ make you that much smarter?

Follow the $$$

Just in case you would like to know where your tax dollar is going.

The Recession is Over!

The recession is over our heads and coming down fast!

China Is At It Again!

The game is over unless other materials can take the place of  this.

Chemical Soup

The amount of chemicals inside our bodies should not be our biggest worry; the fact that science has no idea what most chemicals are capable of doing inside our bodies should scare us to death!

Juan Cole

Juan Cole is considered one of the foremost experts on the war in Afghanistan.
He is worth reading!

Look Out Below!

More fun yet to come our way, thanks to the greed that has strangled the USA.
It ain't over 'till the women with a thyroid problem sings.

It's About Time!

The hero who threw a shoe at "W" is finally getting released, or at least what's left of him.

The Public Option?

First they do not want to give it to us. Now they want to punish us if we do not have it!

Tillman Act on Trial

9 September 2009 the Supreme Court will consider allowing corporations to give direct campaign funds in federal elections.

Not One of Us!

The "Good 'ol Boys" network won another one and that means the rest of us lost again.

A Picture's Worth

Take a little trip in Taliban country.

States On Reserves

Some streets in various states may close from time to time, but rest assured Wall Street will remain open!

Stimulate This

We are not Econ majors here at Dahath, but it just seems to us that it would make more sense to use the trillions of dollars from the stimulus package to put people to work fixing the aging, deteriorating infrastructure of our country instead of giving all that money to the same geniuses that put us here?
Then again, we have not done the math on it, therefore, it may make more sense to wait until more bridges come crumbling down.

Recession Over

The recession is over!
(That is if your in the top five percent income bracket.)
If not--oh well.

Hearts and Minds

Hearts and minds and other body parts strewn all over the road.
How much longer can the Afghans survive our help?

A Brave New World

Things are most definitely changing in the world of Intelligence!

What a Shame

Reducing our military to cannon-fodder.

The Rest of the Story

This is why we are here--the other side!

Postpartum

As if it was not already challenging to be a mother.

Is This the USA?

Did we get snatched by aliens and transported to a third world country? God We hope so, if not, we are all in big trouble!
Although we here at Dahath have been expecting a civil war to break out in the US in the next few years if our character continues to decay; this is still hard to believe!

Pre-Season

Just think, the fire season has not even started in Southern California yet!
Who is going to pay for it?

Flu News

FYI on the Swine Flu for parents.

A Battle of Hearts and Minds?

Maybe the problem is the application of the "Hearts and Minds" approach in Afghanistan.

The Real Loss of Leadership

About the time they were burying Senator Kennedy we lost what amounts to just another future leader.
How many will it take? How many can we afford to lose?
